Moderately Moist/Well Drained

EXPOSURE: Full Sun - Part Shade

GENERAL HABIT: Multiple stemmed, deciduous shrub 5-
6ft. high and about 6ft. wide. Slow to mature.


FOLIAGE: Medium grey green to dark green, ternately or
pinnately compound.


FLOWER: Large, single to semi-double flowers are a soft
cream to pure white with a prominent purple blotch in the
center. Very fragrant.


COMMENTS:
These plants represent forms imported from nursery
propagated plants from China and Lithuania.
Often lumped together as "Joseph Rock" (which is suppose
to be from the original seeds Joseph Rock brought back
from his expeditions in the 1920's.

These plants take a few years to really settle, mature and
flower. Some forms are better than others, but all should be
protected from strong winds.

Botrytis is of concern as new growth develops in early
spring.
