emerging. Slim, wiry stems 3-6ft. in height.

facing flowers that are pale green with a large purple-
maroon central blotch that extends towards near the edge of
the petals and tepals. Fragrant
COMMENTS:
A most sought after species, but somewhat difficult in
cultivation because of its stoloniform habit and borderline
hardiness in some areas. Seems to thrive best left
undisturbed in a woodland with acid-loving plants. Has
been grown in nursery containers buried in the ground, but
flowering stems seem to want to come through the drainage
holes.
