from woody rhizomes. Plant grows to 6-10” high x 15-20” wide.
FOLIAGE: Coarse, trifoliate, dull green mature foliage that
undulate slightly and have a few minute spines/hairs on the
edges. New growth is a pale bronze-red with faint red mottling.

the Pacific Northwest. Stout sprays of 1" flowers with pale pink
petals and lighter white or shell pink sepals. The long inner
spurs are essentially the same color with broader pink sepals.
COMMENTS:
A fairly new species to cultivation. It is very short growing in
stature and has a moderate growth rate. Though evergreen,
previous year's foliage should be trimmed back to allow new
foliage and flowers. Very similar to E. brachyrhizum
