ORIGIN: Western China, Eastern Himalayas

USDA PLANT HARDINESS ZONE: 7-9

SOIL: Rich, moist, but well drained

EXPOSURE: Part Shade        

GENERAL HABIT:
Bulbous, herbaceous perennial herb. Can
tower up to 12-15 feet in height once it flowers. Considered
monocarpic with the main bulb dying once it flowers, but several
bulblets are left behind along with seed capsules filled with
seeds.

FOLIAGE: Chordate and large, similar to a Hosta leaf.
Medium-dark green, glabrous foliage.

FLOWER: Funnel shaped, cream white flowers with a central
red-purple blotch in the center. Deliciously perfumed.

COMMENTS:
Plants do best when started as a young bulb or seedling. Plant
bulbs shallowly and protect tender foliage from slugs.
